Processing XForm data on the server

Hi.  When you submit an xform to the server, what is the general concept and/or classes/code to process the form?

All the books I have on XForm focus on building the form, not processing the data from the form on the server.

Actually, I'm looking for how to do it in Python, but since I'm a .NET guy, I figure if I understand how it works there, I can translate the concepts.

I'm guessing it posts a blob of xml.  Do you look at the Request object to see it? Is it stored in a particular field name? Or is it more of a stream or a file upload? Then just parse it with your favorite XML SAX or DOM class?
